My success is not something seen, but it is something deep within my heart. In the core of my being, I have received a gift… not a car, or a family heir loom, NO. Those can’t even compare to what I have. The Giver of my gift loves me unconditionally, so much so that my gift is His sacrifice. The one who gave me my gift is my Father. Sad to say though, that as much as He loves me, we couldn’t be together because I messed up in my life. His present to me was the only bridge to bring us together and every second of every day I live in thanksgiving towards Him. My gift is Jesus Christ, and my success is that I received the gift and now have eternal life in paradise with my Father, my Creator.

It all started the day I was born…and I messed up. Sin entered my life and I embraced it. Sin literally means, to miss the mark, and I certainly did. In fact, we all have. Have you ever told a lie? Even if it was small? Ever taken something that wasn’t yours? Even if it was small? Well then, by your own admission, you’re a lying thief! Seems that we are in the same boat with a leak in it! Before I was out of time and my boat sank, my grandfather took me to his church to see the annual Christmas play. This is where my story of success begins! After hearing an invitation that was a bit confusing, I decided to walk down the aisle and find out more. In the back of that little church, I learned that my sin separated me from God because He is perfect and I was not. I also found out that He gave His own Son, Jesus, a perfect person, to die as my perfect sacrifice. The gap that cut me off from my Father can be bridged by Jesus, and all I had to do was accept the gift that was given to me. That night I took the gift and never looked back! My old life of sin is forgiven and now I have a wonderful reward!

As I grew older I realized the decision that I made was truly life changing. I understood better the older I got and I received so much more! My deal keeps getting sweeter every day. I have an unimaginable love that overflows in my life. When I am weak, He is strong. When I stumble, He is always by my side to catch me. Even in the darkest times in my life, I had hope. Many people often times feel alone and lost in this world, but I have someone who understands every aspect of who I am and still loves me the same. Now, I have comfort here on Earth, but even better is that when I die, I leave this place and enter into the most glorious paradise, unimaginable. But what makes the place so great is that my Daddy will be walking with me, side by side, hand in hand.

Unlike winning a sports game, my success is lasting, and now I live my success story forever. My life looks radically different than so many others. I have love in my heart and try to share it with the world. I don’t want to hide my gift; instead, I want others to know about it so that their ultimate success can be achieved by accepting the same gift. My goal now in life is to live for God and share the good news of Jesus.
