To love someone is a precious gift from God. You don't just wake up one morning and say, "Oh I think I'll fall in love today with the 3rd person I see walking on the street."  No, it's a divine ordinance that has taken you captive. Once you receive it -- it possesses you.

God gives you impulses to be near that person.  But if they chose to send you away because you've made mistakes, the love is still too powerful to just die. It cannot be extinguished like a fire. No it continues to burn in your heart. It's hard to contain the powerful impulses to express it. It satiates your very being and there's not a thing you can do to free yourself. So you languish in its beauty.

Nevertheless, I'd rather be in love. It makes you glow from deep within your being because it's a flame that God has ignited within you. So if God saw fit to ignite this flame, there must be something right about it. Thank you Lord for this beautiful flame burning within me.
