“Katrina” crushed the “Big Easy” like sandcastles at high tide.
Many people perished for lack of a high secure place to hide.
In hot contaminated places, too many passed on from the shock.
I pray to God that those souls were HIDING HIGH ON THE ROCK.

Floods crushed the levees like the fury of an irritated God.
The good fell with the bad; that’s always dreadfully hard.
Streets littered with debris and pain, block after sad block.
Tribulation is made easier; HIDING HIGH ON THE ROCK.

New Orleans is broken with many family units displaced.
Rebuilding the city and their lives, will be a long hard race.
Our country’s leaders dropped the ball as the healing started.
Their actions left people with nothing- and still broken hearted.

The Word of God says to never place our trust in mere man.
Mankind will disappoint you; I’ve been there time and again.
As I watched the news in horror, I prayed to God for the words;
To illustrate the most awful hurricane of which I’ve ever heard.

Starting over for a lot of people with no safe place to start;
Shall be made less painful for those with Christ in their hearts.
The memories of lost loved ones locked away in a tiny wooden box.
I pray all the lost citizens are resting- HIGH ON THE ROCK.
