Taming Reality


In the ever stillness of the dark of night,
reality blends with fantasy and dreams,
pleasant to nightmarish thoughts delight,
from laughter and joy to unwanted screams.

Deep slumber opens the door to illusions,
which holds random thoughts of the mind,
and perfect sense is derived from confusion,
mixing lustful desire in the corridor of time.

Distorted perception blends with feelings,
bringing forth a transformation of desires,
what is and what was, prevents the healing,
engulfed in the flames of our emotional fire.

Restless energy fuels it’s very own dreams,
tossing and turning we fall deep into sleep,
haunting memories of yesteryear’s schemes,
emotions jar the unresolved issues we keep.

Each night we journey down a begotten path,
fighting the dragons and demons we blame,
our own deeds and actions create the wrath,
holding us accountable, for we must be tamed.
