Prayers

Thank you Lord that you have planned out my life.
You have given to me defining moments and times of duration.

Thank you Lord, for bringing me forth in my mother’s womb.
and for the time when my physical body will cease to live,
for imparting to me spiritual life when I was born-again
and that I will not suffer eternal death in hell.
Thank you Lord, for planting me in Your garden of love, mercy and grace
and for pulling up the weeds that I had planted in Your garden.

Thank you Lord for slaying my sinful habits and for restoring to me to sound wholeness
and breaking into pieces my hurtful attitudes, thoughts and actions
and building me up through Your church, the pillar and ground of the truth.

Thank you Lord for the shedding of tears over my faults, iniquities and sins that grieved your Spirit.
Thank you for laughter and comical events that made me feel that You were smiling down on me.
Thank you Lord for the times of lamenting. “Lord, do You ever get tired of me complaining?”
Thank you for the sweet dances You taught me, to walk with You in measured steps.

Thank you Lord for replacing my hard, stony heart with one that is soft and pliable
and placing strong and unshakable Christians who have surrounded me in love.
Thank you Lord for the times You have pressed me near to Your bosom and held me close
and for those times when I could not find You and I felt that You were absent from me.

Thank you for the abundance of Your forgiveness, wisdom and compassion overflowing in my life.
Thank you for the times of bewilderment, when I said, “Lord, have I lost my mind?”
Thank you Lord for Your loving care and maintaining my existence
and casting away those things that would harm me.

Thank you Lord for tearing asunder my worldly mindsets, and fleshly desires
and for tenderly knitting my heart with Yours.
Thank you Lord for knowing You through stillness.
Thank you for uttering to me Your Word.

Thank you Lord for teaching me to love the things You love
and for teaching me to detest the thing You detest.
Thank you Lord for helping me live in a world that is hostile to You.
Thank you that we will forever enjoy freedom from that hostility in heaven.

Thank you Lord for Your labor of love that has made my days profitable.
You have made my life beautiful.
This I cannot comprehend.
I can only say to you that I am eternally grateful.
