During my lunch break today I was listening to my favorite Christian Radio Station.
I heard a gem that I thought worth sharing…………..
The message was that we are not to simply consider ourselves as God’s tools on earth.
We are to consider ourselves more as works of Art, God’s Art Work.
A fairly bold statement, and one that suggests an air of superiority and pride….but the more I thought about it , the clearer it became……….

As Christians we do get caught up in a life of service, because we have given our lives to Him, feel indebted and Love Him.

James 2:17,
‘Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone.’

So we scurry around, busily seeking ways to offer service, thinking that in doing so He is Glorified.
I often hear statements like, ’I don’t know how you do it all.’
To which my response is always, ’I don’t, He does.’, and in that reply I believe He is Glorified.

Then God called to my memory another statement made several months ago, as I was witnessing to a co worker.
She said, ‘I want to be more like you.’
She was not referring to looks and almost certainly not wealth!
Her reference was to the better parts of me……the parts of God in me.
She clarified, ’You are always happy, with a smile and kind word for everyone.’
(Now that for sure is God!)

She said, ‘ I am not good enough to go to church.’ and went on to talk of her past, almost crying.
I shared with her parts of my life, before I was Saved, that I regret.
Then the most wonderful moment of all:
I found myself quoting scripture ,

1 John:4,
‘For if our heart condemn us, God is greater than our heart, and knoweth all things.’

……….. as I became a vessel for His Holy Spirit .
In that one moment I felt such inner wholeness, indescribable joy and all consuming Love.

The truth is…. I will never be a ,’Mona Lisa,’… but I am a ’Child of His’, of infinite worth and beauty to Him.
God can take the worthless canvas of me and I become of value.
I become His ’Work of Art.’

The radio message concluded with,
‘consider yourself in the light of being a ‘Work of Art,/ Gods Art,’ as opposed to merely a tool ,
and watch what He does with your life.‘

Sometimes God lays things on our hearts, just for us. Most certainly this was intended for me to hear, and think upon, but I am sure the message applies to Christians everywhere.
The Economic Climate is crushing. We have not lost faith…………….but are perhaps in danger of becoming a little too downhearted.
A good time to remind ourselves who we truly are, through His eyes,.
Precious, hand painted pieces of Gods Kingdom, so much more than simply tools.
