Is there a heart beneath this breast of mine
To ever taste of love unpricked by woe,
Wrenched by love unkind
And hastened to a castle in the sky

Dares not to dwell on haunting memories
That penetrate my dreams
Until this storm subsides, I cannot feel
No need to prolong agony
By remembering love's chill

And yet love is the lifeline I must hold on to
Else I wither in despair, what else can I do
In need of comfort's tender embrace
Yet I am left without a trace of you

Lord hold me as I suffer this thorn of anguish
This whirlwind intended to strengthen my resolve
Til rays of hope can penetrate, I languish;
To satiate me with the tide of love's return

Until then there's no place I can be -- that you are not.
"The Lord is nigh to one of a broken heart
and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit."
