The real meaning of Christmas

Christmas trees for sale, lined up in a row.
Thirty dollars a piece, the sign said below.

A child's eyes so gently looked all around.
Is that the cheapest tree that could be found?

He looked in his pockets only to see.
He didn't have enough money to buy a tree.

Down his cheeks the tears slowly ran.
But oh! How he tried to be a big man.

From his heart, a prayer he did say.
"Jesus could You find me a tree today?"

A man nearby saw the tears in his eyes.
He said, "It hurts me when a little boy cries."

The boy slowly walked, wiping his face.
Hoping that his tears he could erase.

The man said, "I lost a boy about your size.
I couldn't stand to see those tears in your eyes.

Could I buy you the biggest tree in the lot?"
It wasn't long and that big tree was bought.

The boy looked up to the man, and said.
"Maybe, I could be your little boy instead?

You said, your little boy was lost.
How much money does a little boy cost?"

The man said, "You can't put a price on a boy.
But you have brought me back my joy."

The man and the boy just needed a friend.
This is the way a Christmas story should end.
