Observing through the lens of hope,
His believing heart filled with praise,
Abraham, through faith’s telescope
Rejoiced to see Messiah’s days.

In the distant past Job proclaimed
The resurrection of the dead---
Clearly saw his Redeemer’s reign---
Would see Him face to face, he said.

The prophets all by faith could see
Grand vistas of amazing grace---
God’s Spirit showed them things to be,
Sure sightings of far future days.

This telescope sees backwards too,
Explains to us how life began;
Gives us a thrilling overview---
Time is spanned by the Father’s hand.

Eyes focused by this telescope
Enjoy faith’s unobstructed sight---
Clear vision of a living hope
As life is seen in Christ’s pure Light.
