2 Tim. 2:14-26

In this section of Scripture, Timothy brings a reminder to Christians. He reminds us to avoid foolish arguments, foolish people, and foolish battles about the law. Such endeavors are unprofitable and useless.

Always be careful to present yourself approved to God. If we are doing things that God cannot and will not support, we need to change our ways and our thinking. We need to be workers who do not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the Word of truth. If we are living in the right way and our morals are in line with God's commandments and correctly sharing God's Word with others, we will have nothing to be ashamed of.

Also avoid mindless, wicked conversation. It will only lead to more ungodliness. Foolish people who present foolish arguments and fight foolish battles, give a message that will spread like cancer. People who have strayed concerning the truth, saying the resurrection has already past, overthrow the faith of some. If Christ is preached that He has been raised from the dead, how do some say that their is no resurrection of the dead?

Christians should not let their faith be moved one inch because of those who stray from and misuse the Word of God. These people are foolish and have a sinful agenda. They try to say that there was no resurrection, but our faith and our beliefs and Jesus' empty tomb confirm that He has indeed risen. God is truth, so how then can there be no resurrection? God does not lie. Never let your faith be altered by the beliefs of others. Always trust in God.

God's foundation is solid and His seal tells us that if we believe in Christ, we have to depart from sin. The Lord is good, a stronghold in the day of trouble. He knows those who trust Him.

We should be a vessel for honor, set apart and useful for the Master, prepared for every good work. Always honor God, yourself, and others. Exclude yourself from the ways of this world and you will be useful to Jesus. He can then use you to help Him.

Flee from youthful lusts. We should pursue righteousness, faith, love, and peace with those who call on the name of the Lord out of a pure heart. We are to avoid foolish and ignorant arguments, knowing that they generate trouble.

A servant of the Lord should not fight, but be gentle to all, able to teach, patient in humility, converting those who oppose us, if God will perhaps grant them repentance so that they may know the truth. Also, so that they may come to their senses and escape the snare of the devil, having been taken captive by him to do his will.
