The blood stained cross my Savior bore
The crown of thorns He wore
The rusty nails that pierced Him through
All for me and you.


The tears He must have shed
From angry whips He bled
His suffering was sealed in doom
"Golgotha rent in gloom".


Darkness fell to hide the horror
Dividing the day into tomorrow
But from death's ashes He arose
Annihilating His foes.


Would that He had not descended
All hope would lie in dust
But that He did ascend on high
My Savior, will I trust.


Alone and lost without a clue
Until His light pierced darkness through
He did it all for me and you,
All for me and you.


The architect of my salvation
Has promised to prepare
A place for me in heaven
When I'm caught up in the air.


Until that day His love for me
Maintains a steady beat
The Holy Spirit comforts me
And makes my life complete.


Until that day His love for me
Beats steady in my heart
And I can rest assured from me
He never will depart.


My words are so inadequate
To show my gratitude
To one who suffered,
Died and arose
All for me and you
He did it all
For me and you.
