Not Because I Deserve It
My uncle was very upset because a newspaper in my state referred to me as a niece in my grandmother's obituary. At first this listing had no significant. But then the Holy Spirit led me meditate on the special relationship I had with her. Although the paper would've been technically correct to call me granddaughter, she always treated me more like a daughter. She loved me with God's love to overflowing. How did I repay her? I constantly argued with her. And worse. I was far from deserving anything she gave me. As I was meditating on this truth, the Holy Spirit moved me to the privilege of calling God Father. It was almost like I was born saying "I have my rights" I cared nothing for His glory, and yet the all powerful perfectly just, pure Creator of the universe sent His Son to die, so that I can call Him father. This is just one of many privileges that God offers to whosoever believeth in Jesus Christ (John 3: 16). How much less do I deserve all these blessings?
