As a Christian I have a moral obligation to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ with those I encounter who are non-believers. You all may know the story of the death of Jesus Christ on the cross. Well His precious blood was shed to atone for all the sins of the world. He bore the cross for us. His sacrifice grants us the privilege to ask for, and be forgiven of our sins and be granted the gift of salvation unto eternal life, when this life is over.
Though He died on the cross, He also arose from the dead by the resurrecting power of God in Him. I once heard a man say, "I don't believe anyone rose from the dead." To which I question, "What good is a god who can't raise someone from the dead"? Has your god raised anyone from the dead?
The world can darken our minds. But God knew that we needed a savior. It is written, "God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son, Jesus Christ." Jesus is the light of the world. Receiving him into our hearts enlightens us to truth.
As good parents you want the best for your children. You want to know that they are prepared to succeed in this world. But there is the bigger picture. What about eternal well-being? It is inevitable that we will, all of us, depart from this world, one day. As parents you must not only concern yourselves with preparing your children for success in this life, but you must prepare and make sure they understand the truth of eternal life.
All beliefs do not lead to the same God. That is a deception. There are many deceptions and there is a deceiver who implements these deceptions. The deceiver, "that ole' dragon the devil", would have you loose your privilege to eternal life, so dearly paid for by the precious blood of Jesus. Do you know where you and your children will spend eternity?
The Bible says, "It is appointed unto man only once to die...". So you get no second chances - no reincarnations. According to the Christian faith, that is a deception: Or the belief that you would come back as something less than a human being. Why would you want to come back as anything less than a human being? The God I serve can do better than that.
But the only way to God is through the blood of Jesus. His sacrifice assures us passage to eternal heaven by repenting of our sins and simply accepting Him into our hearts and confessing that he is the Son of God. By faith we believe and by His grace we are saved. Not through any great works of our own. Jesus paid the price. God asks only a small thing of us, only to believe. He makes it simple not complicated because He wants us to return to Him in our eternal lives.
When Christians die, we have the comfort of knowing that we will be together again eternally. When our mortal bodies have faded away, our eternal spirits will live on because Jesus Christ has prepared a place for us. Christ said, "In my father's house are many mansions, I go to prepare a place for you, so that where I am you may be also."
