BE A CHRISTIAN HUSBAND

Ephesians 5:25; Colossians 3:19; 1Peter 3:7

There is no husband on earth that can truly, genuinely, and sincerely love his wife as Christ love the church until Christ comes to dwell n his heart. You must therefore open up your heart to Jesus and He in turn will open up in you a fountain of love and grace that neither you nor your spouse would ever have thought possible!

IDEAL CHRISTIAN ‘HUSBAND’

H – The head (Ephesians 5:23), the heart (Proverbs 31:11) and the hands that works to support and minister to the needs of the wife and the family. (Acts 20:34-25) The head sits atop the body and yet will feel no pressure from it. Once your head begins to weigh down the body or you feel the pressure, or tyrant of your head on your body, there is a problem that needs the immediate attention of the physician. Don’t put pressure on your wife.

U – The umbrella protecting your wife and the children from the rain of criticism and the heat of oppression from friends and in-laws (Genesis 20:16).

S – The shepherd of the family, loving and caring for your wife and family as a shepherd does his sheep. Give precious things to your wife. (Ephesians 5:25; John 10:11-14).

B – The burden bearer, the bridge builder, and the bread winner(Romans 15:1; 1Timothy 2:8).

A – Affection(1Thesalonians 2:8), very much willing to go beyond verbal affirmation, to practical impartation of your very soul into your wife.

N – The nourisher (Ruth 4:15; Ephesians 5:28) of your wife and children both spiritually and physically.

D – The desire in the heart of the wife and of the whole family (Genesis 5:16). You should be such that the wife and the children would want to have you around and not wishing you were away.

You are the family priest to lead the family altar and ensure that your wife and the children maintain a living relationship with God. You are the family purser; therefore, you must not shirk your duties of providing for the material need of the wife and children. You are the family patrolman, whose duty is to protect, defend, and secure your wife from the attack of outside and sometimes from your family, relations and friends. You are the family patriarch, a role model for the children. The duty of inculcating discipline in the children is incumbent on you.

H – Holy in conscience.

U – Understanding in conversation, correction and criticism.

S – Strong in caring and compassion.

B – Blameless in conduct at home and outside.

A – Abiding in covenant of wedlock

N – Noble in courage, protecting the wife

D – dependable of contribution to the needs of the family.(1Timothy 5:8)

Remember your wife is absolutely unique. She is a master-piece of God’s creation made specially for you. Besides God, it is before your wife you stand or fall.
