HUMAN ECONOMICS:

Following is a treatise by the late Dr. Adrian Rogers that is making the rounds on the internet:

"You cannot legislate the poor into freedom by legislating the wealthy out of freedom.

What one person receives without working for another person must work for without receiving. The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else.

When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them, and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for, that my dear friend, is about the end of the nation."

CHRISTIAN ECONOMICS:

The above statement, although terribly oversimplified and generalized, probably cannot be refuted in human economics, but there is a higher spiritual principal which supersedes and overrides it. It is that all wealth belongs to God, and how it is dispersed tells the world in no uncertain terms whether the earthly owner belongs to Him or not.

The Sermon on the Mount and the 25th chapter of Matthew (31-46) may not be valid in human economics, but it is God's Word on the subject. And the answer to Cain's question, "Am I my brother's keeper?" is still a resounding YES!,

The stark contrast between the two views is clear and plain, and the choice, as always, is ours.
