INTRODUCTION
Leadership positions are God-ordained in the body of Christ. Let us examine the following scriptures in relation to its emergence and answer the succeeding question. Exodus 18:17-25, Numbers 11:14-16, Deut. 1:11-18, Titus 1:5-9, I Tim. 3:1-13, 5:17-22. How did leadership emerge? What purposes are to be served by leaders in a given fellowship, Church or group? What are the expected qualifications of leaders?

LEADERSHIP RELATIONSHIP
In general Management, leadership connotes a vertical relationship between the leader and the led. The leader is at the top while the led, or subordinates or followers are at the base line of authority

The leaders are vested with authority to deal with planning, organizing, controlling, coordinating, directing the affairs of the led with a view to achieving certain basic but common goals of the group to which both the leaders and the led belong. Now let us examine this secular management position in the light of the following:

i. The personal life of Jesus among His disciples Mat. 26:47-49. Mk. 14:3-46, Luke 22:47, John 13:5-10. What can you say of Jesus’ disposition to His followers in the light of the above scriptures? A Judas was needed to finish him out among the apostles! Is this the same situation today? If yes, support your answers with some practical reason you feel it is so
ii. Under what circumstances can a leader boldly say: “ Be ye followers of me, even as l am of Christ” I Cor. 4:16, 11:1, Phil. 3:17

JESUS, OUR PERFECT EXAMPLE IN LEADERSHIP REALTIONSHIP
What a leader needs to show in his relationship to his subordinate were perfectly demonstrated by Christ. Let have a look at the following unique leader-led relationship Characteristics of Christ.

1. Love- I Cor. 13:4-7, John 3:16
2. Compassion- Math. 20:34, 15:32, 23:37
3. His manliness- Luke 19:41-42, John 11:35
4. His Holiness- Jn. 14:9
5. His Prayerfulness- Jn. 1:14, Lk. 6:12, Heb. 5:7, Math. 14:13, Lk. 9:28
6. His Passion for Souls- I Tim. 1:15, Jn. 4:7-29
7. His Humility- Phil. 2:6-8, John 13:5-10, 2 Tim. 2:24-25
As a leader do you love those under you?
