Reasons for Thanksgiving

Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and grace to help in time of need. [Hebrews 4:16 RSV]

What precious reasons for giving thanks
Learning to lean on heavenly promises
Hope, our reason for things eternal

Promises that are lasting, not temporal
His love, faithful and true each new day
His caring arms about me to lead the way

Fear of my Lord, confidence made strong
Certain of His grace I remain steadfast
A refuge for my children, for them to pass

Follow the narrow road, our path to heaven
Not rushin’ after money fortune and fame
Climin’ pushin’ shoven’, such a dizzy game

Single offering of the Son, to touch the heart of all
Father give us each, your throne of grace
Steadfast hope in Him, Make this our heavenly call

I love singing praises to my Lord
Faithful in heart, holding the hem of his robe
My heart in tune with His, all in one accord

Take time to be holy, His plea to my soul
Maturing my faith toward things unseen
Bold testimony, sharing hope that others may glean

Let us draw near, His throne of grace
Mercy and hope with treasures from above
Reasons to say, “Thank You Lord” for abiding love

Grateful for receiving a Kingdom that cannot fail
Offering to God acceptable worship in living
Reverence and awe, let us share our thanksgiving
