Walkin’ ‘round late one night,
Not to long ago.
I found a place just out of town,
When I wandered off the road.
The moon was full the stars shone bright,
Not a cloud was in the sky.
I was feelin’ low on that starry night
And a tear fell from my eye.

I walked a while, then stopped to rest,
Atop a dusty ridge.
Then walked a bit, further west,
To cross a stonework bridge.
I had to stop half through my stride,
Upon the bridge’s end.
Just took a knee, my eyes grew wide,
When I failed to catch my wind.

Words can’t describe that grand display
No logic could be found.
Seen by night, but not by day.
Both knees were on the ground.
A River flowed through golden sands,
Twinkling in the light.
Eyes toward heaven, I cupped my hands,
Seems I’ve done things right.

I rest near gentle waterfalls,
My Bones, and body weary.
No busy streets, or cage like walls,
Beneath the Old Oak Tree.
