The clock ticks. I see it in my face.
I am out of breath in this dreaded race.
I have no way to halt this forward drop.
I need the God who can make this stop.

I wait for the Day that comes without end,
when I can be with my only Friend.
I think I’d like to get off this silly mess,
where I can be so very timeless!

You alone the Timeless One,
when I am done, make me all re-done.
Take this life when it’s at rest.
Please come to me and make me timeless.

I have Your Word, the ageless One,
the rising Bright and Morning Sun.
Make me like You and I will be blessed.
Grant me my need to be fully timeless.

I saw the things that I chased after,
gave clues to my need of the Master.
I chased my youth as it fled away.
It left me alone, standing like a stray.

But here I am, waiting for You,
for You, I know, are always true.
Take me home to Your gracious nest.
Come, Jesus, please. Let’s go be timeless!
