Let it rain

The storm drifts in silently.
Shadows of grey.
Chilling the flesh,
Threatening the day.

At first just a spatter,
Drizzling tears,
Sometimes a torrent,
held back for years.

Drop upon drop,
Teardrops of life.
Thunder rolls in,
Darkness and strife.

Crushing and flooding
Moments of fear.
Light from the Heavens,
Assure, ‘I am here.’

Peace through the turmoil.
Faith through the storm.
Rainbows of Light.
Promise of dawn.

The Stiller of Storms,
Baptizing Creation.
Forgiving , restoring
Mankind’s Salvation.

and,
after the rain,
Sweet smelling earth,
Cleansed and refreshed,
God's Glory,
Rebirthed.

Birdsong, and sunshine,
Rejoicing in Him.
Alpha Omega,
‘In control ,’
of all things.

Elizabeth, this is simply lovely. Beautiful reminder of God's strength, assurance and protection during every storm. The flow from the storm, to the Stiller of Storms stanza, then through to that slight pause before the peace of the second last stanza worked so well. Really beautiful. Soothing poem. We don't get rains like you describe, but we do get incessant rains, like in November...But if it weren't for the rains, we wouldn't have such a wonderful green world around us, like we do...And we need God's refreshing rain, too...Good points...What happened to your other entry?
