Written about 6 weeks before I came to Jesus…


Did I ever tell you
What I saw when I
Looked out the shuttered
Window at the breeze blown pine

Did I ever tell you
How peaceful and thoughtful
I feel
When the sun dances
Shadows on the afternoon wall

Have we ever shared
The things which are free
Which bring out the poetry of the soul
And somehow make us sure

When did we last slow down
And concentrate on internalizing
Invaluable gifts of shared
Thoughts, impressions and feelings
Of moments in time extracted from the
Hurried flow
Precious moments of calmness

I know it’s all there
Because once in awhile
It touches me so I can’t forget
And it’s then I know that
The underlying current
That unobtrusive peacefulness
Is what life is all about
The trick being to latch on
And get in tune with it
And grow with the strength gained

Just stop and realize how much
More we could see, savor and
Know if we just stopped long
Enough to share the sun
Coming through the leaves and let
If flow from you to me to you
And envelope us in the mainstream
Of what life is all about!

Please share with me what your
Eyes see
And I will share with you.
Together we will know
The touch of life upon our souls
Indelible because we’re there.
