(You wonÕt find these on Letterman)

1. The Bible will still have all the answers.
2. Prayer will still work.
3. The Holy Spirit will still move.
4. God will still inhabit the praises of His people.
5. There will still be God-anointed preaching.
6. There will still be singing of praises to God.
7. God will still pour out blessings upon His people.
8. There will still be room at the Cross Ð for you.
9. Jesus will still love you.
10. Jesus will still save the lost if they turn to Him. Author unknown

As we study the Bible, we learn that God is always in control! He not only sees the future, He plans it. Though the world doesnÕt see it that way, for it must be seen through the eyes of faith, God continues to reign from heaven above. As Christians in America, we have not only the privilege but also a responsibility to vote and thank God for placing us in the land of opportunity and freedom, for even with her faults, there is no place like America.
However, we donÕt base our joy on who wins the election. Neither do we despair like others, who have no hope, when our candidate loses, for our hope is in Christ alone. Of course, weÕd like to see a candidate win that espouses what we believe, but government will never solve the problem of mankind, which is sin.
Even if a Christian were to win the Oval office and push for ethical reform based on biblical standards, that would not change the heart of man, which is evil from the get-go. We cannot change menÕs hearts to have them trust in Christ. ThatÕs GodÕs business. However, we should share GodÕs love and His word, and we can pray for the souls of those God has placed in our path and in government. God will elevate those rulers that move us along the path to His desired outcome. His prophetic plan will be done. Thus, as Christians, we should not be surprised at the condition of the world, for GodÕs word makes us privy to the final outcome.
When Christ returns, and only then, will the world see a ruler who exhibits total righteousness (goodness) and a true fairness doctrine, which punishes evil. But now, may we make the most of our time here sharing the love of Christ with those who donÕt know Him and those who do. May we look forward to His coming, as we trust in Christ and GodÕs promises. May we know that the only election that is of any lasting importance is GodÕs election of the saints. May we praise Him and thank Him for our place in ChristÕs body.

Mountain Time Moment

19b Then Daniel praised the God of heaven
20 and said: "Praise be to the name of God for ever and ever; wisdom and power are his.
21 He changes times and seasons; he sets up kings and deposes them.
He gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to the discerning.
22 He reveals deep and hidden things; he knows what lies in darkness, and light dwells with him.

Daniel 2:19b-22 NIV NKJV

Keith, this was refreshing to read. You are exactly right. Even though I'm in Australia, I've been watching the lead up to the US elections very closely. This article by you puts everything in perspective.

On a purely technical note, you may or may not be able to see a formatting glitch that's happened with your apostrophes. Glitches like this happen now and then, but the authors don't always see them in their own browser. The glitches happen most often when people upload a Word file instead of a plain text file, or have their computer set for a different language. It can even happen sometimes when pasting straight from a Word file. If you save your file as plain text, it should avoid the problem.
