JESUS IN SEARCH OF SINNERS


Jesus went in search of sinners.

He told explicitly that he came

only for sinners. He walked with

them. He ate with them.

But the Pharisees and the

religious leaders in Jesus’ days

did not like people approaching

Jesus since the people did not

treat them a their teachers.

So they complained Jesus why he

was eating and drinking with

sinners and tax collectors who

were considered bad sinners at

that time.

Jesus very strongly pointed out

his purpose of coming, that is,

for sinners and only for sinners.

He stated clearly, “For I have

come to call not the righteous

but sinners.”(Matthew 9:13)


IN SEARCH OF THE LOST SHEEP

He explained his mission of

searching the sinners with many

parables, one such parable is

about a shepherd with hundred

sheep.

That man did not have million

sheep, but just a hundred and

ninety nine of them were good

followers of the shepherd. Only

one was lost.


WHO ARE THE RIGHTEOUS?

Jesus said ninety nine of these

sheep are all righteous people.

Who is righteous but God alone? I

God alone is righteous why does

Jesus say about these ninety

nine? Who are these ninety nine

righteous people?

These are the people who realized

their sins already, repented for

them and now are one with God.

They are not judging others as

bad and sinners. Humbly they

accept their own reality.


THE FIRST STEP TO RIGHTEOUSNESS

Therefore, the first step to

follow Jesus is to realize our

sins and be ready to repent.


TWO TYPES OF SINNERS

Romans chapters 1 and 2 describe

about two types of sinners.

First chapter deals with worldly

sinners who know themselves and

everyone else treat them as well

known sinners, like murders and

prostitutes.

The prodigal son is of this

category. These people have hope

if they realize their sins and

accept that the true savior is

Jesus Christ.

Whereas chapter 2 deals with self

righteous sinners who think they

are better than others.

These people are not aware of

their sickness and sometimes

others also think they are good,

but God alone knows their heart.

This is like the elder son of the

prodigal son story. They seem to

be good externally, but inward

they are corrupt.

Jesus dealt and warned these

people more than anyone else.


JESUS CAME FOR US, SINNERS

Let us also analyze ourselves

where we are and work on our

salvation.

Jesus is the only salvation,

there is no other way except Him,

but only for the sinners. He is

in search of us, sinners. If we

realize our sins and repent for

them, Jesus will rejoice

extremely.

Praise the Lord. Here is Our

Lord!

Yes, Lord Jesus has come in

search of us.
