Rivers of sorrow wash over your soul
Cleansing, renewing and making you whole
Memories of pain now distant, unclear
You realise it was but folly to fear
The rivers have slowed, now but a trickle
Each drop creates a cool, calming ripple
That spreads from the soul, relieving your pain
Life no longer seems futile, in vain

The past now gone, the journey resumes
Happy for now the future still looms
Many more times will you bathe in those rivers
Just because people are takers not givers
I hear you asking me "When will it end?"
Only when He comes - My very best friend
