I was watching a movie tonight, and there was a courtoom scene in it. A witness was re-entering the witness stand for further cross-examination when the judge reminded him that he was still under oath.

I got lost in thought from that moment for a while…. Thinking of how our Judge wants us to remember that we are still under oath.

We took an oath of faith when we came to Christ, and are expected to live it out day-by-day, hour-by-hour in faithfulness, honesty and integrity. No Sunday-only Christianity, living pious on Sunday morning and living like the all the rest of dying humanity for the balance of the week.

He expects us to be honest-to-God Christians, all day, every day, which by the way is impossible to do on our own. We must have His Holy Spirit empowering us to die to ourselves and live for Him.
