I don’t want to do it, I hate doing wrong
You’re with me when it’s over, but not while its going on.
I say never again but it’s just a worn out song.
Lord I’m the one lost sheep, but can’t find my way back home.

I beg for Your help and You provide it,
But when the time comes, I deny it.
I pretend this will be the time, as I stray way from your sign.
I proclaim tomorrow I will start my fight,
But first I must make it through the night.

There is a puddle on my pillow, as I begin to read the Psalms.
I must find a way to win, how can I be so wrong.
I feel as if I have let you down, why would you stay with me,
My convictions prove your eternal love, and your promise to never leave.

The long hard road has come to an end, I think I can now finally win.
The secret is to stop trying to stop myself, and start serving God.
