MINCEMEAT IN GRACE(less) LAND

Most whom live in the USA appreciate it as being a wonderful country. After all, this is the land of freedom, opportunity and apple pie. However, under the '90's Clinton influence we were introduced to the term Political Correctness. This meaning that it is no longer acceptable and allowable, to orate certain viewpoints or morals. Our laws and behaviors can no longer be based on Godly principal (as they were founded). It has become the land of fewer freedoms and mincemeat pie.

Okay, let's back up right here. We weren't only introduced to the term; it was forced upon us. To not comply risks being labeled phobic, racist, or inflicting hate. People became so sensitive to anything and everything that a new fear (phobia) covered the land like a dark cloud of coal dust. And there it hangs. America's citizens can no longer speak without the fear of someone crying "I'm offended." Have people become so thin-skinned? Are we truly that sensitive?

Don't get me wrong. I believe we need to adhere to a practice of not intentionally hurting anyone and certainly not discriminating for weight, gender or ethnicity, etc. I believe in the Golden Rule (the one that says 'Do unto others, as you would have them do unto you' - not the one that says 'Do to others before they can do it to you').

Have we not though, gone a bit over the line? By that, I mean that if we adhere to the unwritten rules of Political Correctness we can no longer call sin "sin" or voice what is right or wrong. All moral, social and spiritual standards have been tossed out.

When President George W. Bush came into office I believed it was a time of Grace. America was being given added time under this President to operate under the Grace of God. It was to be a time of repentance. Repentance from what you ask? I believe it was to be a time of repentance for our sins as a nation.

Those sins being Abortion, epidemic Pornography and Gambling, Alcohol/Drug Abuse, Sexual Promiscuity, Adultery, removing God from our schools and other public arenas, and so on. Though sins of all natures have always run rampant in the world, America had strived to live by standards set by God and believing founding fathers. That is until the mid-twentieth-century. At that time we began the downward spiral that has produced such lack of morality that we may no longer be the Christian-based nation our forefathers intended.

Yes, we have been a land of religious freedoms. That's part of what made America desirable for the millions of immigrants whom sought to come. Our forefathers didn't want any one religion forced upon America or more importantly controlled by its government. Instead, the U.S. Constitution was set up to guarantee freedom to establish and exercise religion by all citizens.

The twentieth century brought about, bit by bit, the complete opposite. We have gradually edged out God, allowed sin to enter every facet of American life, and for it to take precedent in the forums of entertainment and any public ceremony. Our constitution has been misinterpreted, negated and changed from its original intent. We have allowed ourselves to be removed out from under the umbrella of God's protection.

We have replaced our American apple pie with mincemeat. There is such a mixture of "anything goes" that it is no longer nutritious and desirable. It is instead, toxic! I recently heard a comment saying that if one has no morals, no stance, and no objections of anything, that one can not therefore be criticized.

How tragic that is. It is tragic for those whom believe there is no right or wrong, but also tragic for the rest of us since it seems to be a contagious view. Therefore, if one does not believe as they, there is something wrong with that and that becomes condemned. Does anyone see the irony here? If we voice what the Bible says about homosexuality we are labeled as homophobic. We have no "fear" of homosexuals, we just state that God says its an abomination, yet we are condemned for saying so. God is not in the business of offending; he is in the business of sanctifying.

Premarital sex - okay. Lying - okay. Alcohol and drug addictions - okay. Murder by abortion or euthanasia - okay. Satanic worship - okay. Witchcraft and vampirism - okay. All is okay by a society who has turned their back on God. But the church is not blameless. Where have we been? Why has it not taken a stand for what God says is right?

Many other countries can not [by their laws] take a stand. Americans can but don't! We can not choose our God for those who do not want him, but we can choose to not allow their gods to be forced upon us. We have idly sat and watched as paganistic ways have been slipped into our lives.

By letting them enter in, they have become so familiar, so commonplace that we have become desensitized to what we see. Then we become complacent, apathetic and after that comes total acceptance. No questions asked - that's just the way it is. Before long we begin to acquire a taste for mincemeat ourselves.

What have we done with this extended period of Grace we've been given? Have we taken action to encourage change or repentance? This time will not last forever. There is only one way to be saved from the judgement that is soon to come. It will come soon, be assured. Our task is to reach all that have ears to hear with the good news of the only way to escape God's wrath. Jesus is the only way, the light, life and resurrected Son of God.

In the first three chapters of Revelation, John is instructed to write to the churches concerning their fruits and their errors. Those words are applicable to THE CHURCH today as well. Denomination does not enter in; any church that is not proclaiming Jesus as Christ and not yielding the fruits he desires is in error and risking judgement.


Read those chapters and ask if you, as an individual, are living within the commandments of God. Then look at your church and ask if collectively it is doing what it should. Is your church leadership leading the people toward Christ with a voice declaring what is an abomination to God? If not, it is in error. Be assured that too many are not doing so. They are instead oppressed by the wealthy of their congregations or a Board who is afraid of offending.

But Rejoice! We can correct this individually, corporately, and nationally. Repenting is the answer. Sin and abomination is forgivable if we ask and turn away from that which is displeasing to Jesus. He died for us, you, me and all so that we can repent. Nothing is so bad that we can not repent and receive forgiveness. We are being given this time of Grace to do so.
