Larry Lilly's Letter Wednesday September 17, 2008

Any day now we are going to hear of a certain someone "fixen up the crack in the Liberty bell." It's been awhile since Davy Crockett attempted the fix, but our generation is beholding a person from the Frontier who may get the job done, if not with Metallurgical expertise, with pure energy.

In the last few days I have heard or read of this person from a truly Wild Wilderness referred to as a modern Helen of Troy, a 21st Century Amazon, though thankfully she doesn't use a bow and arrow, to the heretofore unknown descendant of our last rough riding president. A Biblical scholar called her, the reincarnation of the biblical judge, Deborah, and the tribes are singing her song.

In an article in The Indianapolis Star, 9/15/08 Lori Borgman writes of the tremendous strain that one Sarah Palin is placing on normal women. I hope you will use the URL to read her hilarious piece, "Give us a break, Supersarah." To be fair, Lori may have the spirit of Erma Bombeck.

Lori is sure everyone will know the letters are to be used when women, young or mature, are faced with any of life's many and varied problems. I think men will get into the act as well.

Joyce loves to watch moose walk through little towns in Northern New Hampshire. If we were to accidently hit one of these magnificent creatures, we would simply glance at our wrist bands and prayerfully ask "What Would Sarah Do?" and thus we would be illuminated on the art of road dressing a moose.

I wonder if Sarah would appear so wonderful if she were framed by a person who appears to actually be alive? The Great Blonde told me that this election campaign is a little too religiously slanted with Barack positioning himself as the modern Jesus organizing the community. I suggested that Mr. McCain should tell Mr. Obama that he, Mr. McCain, had helped Jesus organize Nazareth and Mr. Obama is no Jesus. Joyce said that is too close to another Democrat's line, but that Mr. Biden would probably work it in.

From what I gather from scripture, Peter, James and John were high energy men, and Paul was atomically charged with "it." Over a period of three thousand years the energy of Samson has become the benchmark for serious energized men. I take comfort in being as God made me, with a little extra vitamin B and ultra black French Roast, and just get along the path I am called to tread. Others may sprint, but I trod. To simply tread along faithfully day by day is what I do best. When I attempt to run with patience the race that is set before me, I find it will take me at least three days to recover, so in the long run I accomplish more by plodding for three days than if I attempt run for one half a day.
