"Come and listen to what He has done in my life..."

It was a bright October day, and after dropping our children at school, I decided to take my dog for a walk along the Mission Creek Greenway. It was wonderful on the path that day; the creek sparkling and gurgling beside me, and the poplar trees at the height of fall colour, illuminated in the sunshine.

As I walked, I felt a growing sense of well-being, and I thought to myself, "You are here God." I began to hum and then sing right out loud because no-one else was there but me. I worshipped God, feeling a closeness to him that I hadn't in a long time.

I looked up at the colourful trees, and wanting to somehow save this beauty, I stopped to pick up some leaves from the ground. And that is when I noticed... the leaf in my hand was heart-shaped, like a yellow valentine. And, at that very moment, I heard God say in my own heart,

"I am here, and I love you, I love you!"

So, I stood there, surrounded by the glowing heart shaped leaves, and I felt the touch of God.

Hi, Wow! excellent writing and what a story. I'm always amazed how our heavenly Father meets us exactly where and when we need it.
Wonderful how this world is filled with insights, and little miracles from His Hand if we would only stop and see them. I am so glad you shared this story and I am even happier I stopped to read. Thank you.

This is a lovely story. I think I did not realize that all the leaves were heart-shaped but the ending tied it up nicely. Well done.

Sorry, one more memory: walking with a four-year old friend who picked up some wedding confetti; later she said "Oh my heart is broken" as a piece she played with fell apart. She couldn't have known that this was exactly how I was feeling at the time.

I picked a pebble off the beach with a heart-shape revealed in the natural rock. I have it among some pebbles around a candle used during prayer.

This is a beautiful snap shot of His encouragement and love!
