Be there for me Lord,
As I enter into today.
Before the alarm screams quarter to four,
Before my feet hit the cold floor.

Be there for me . . . My Lord

As I'm aroused from my sleep,
Before I rise from my bed,
Before I have my daily bread.

Be there for me . . . My Lord

As I make my way to the door,
Before I walk down the hall,
Before I say good morning to all,

Be there for me . . . My Lord

As I start out for the day,
Before I leave my safe abode,
Before I perform my daily load.

Be there for me . . . My Lord

As I make my stops and turns,
Before I insert the ignition's key,
Before I return again at five-thirty-three.

Be there for me . . . My Lord

As I go about the day,
Before the decision that I make,
Before the tasks I undertake.

Be there for me . . . My Lord

As I finish up my day,
Before I fight the sea of metal,
Before I step on the gas pedal.

Be there for me . . . My Lord

Be there for me Lord,
As I place my key in the door.
Before I make my way down the hall,
Before I say good evening to all.

Be there for me . . . My Lord
