Go on With Him 8/28/08

To keep away from things forbidden,
Away, with You, our lives must be hidden.
The inner workings of our mind and soul,
Will only in You find themselves whole.

Every man's heart is full of deceit,
Even himself, does not truly meet,
Only on the rarest occasion,
And with the Lord's own holy persuasion.

We think we know ourselves so well,
But without Jesus, our lives would tell
Of the filthy rags and the ungodly smell,
Where, on our own, alone, we would dwell.

But we have a High Priest Who is so great,
That He places the finest things on our plate,
Dresses us in royal robes of His own,
And for our sins came to earth to atone.

If we go on with Him as He goes with us,
We never need fear or be anxious,
But take the rest He promises to give,
And then we will really know how to live.
