When the beauty magazines and product lines
promote their innumerable products
with promises of concealing, anti-aging, and lifting,
(“camouflage, war paint and spackle”)...I am reminded that the number of my days are hidden in the Lord. It is in Him and Him alone that real beauty originates.

Yes, I can play with these items,
But He will heal my scars,
lift my sagging spirit,
take away my worry lines.
And He alone will adorn me with true loveliness
daily as I trust in Him.

Lord, dress me in the garments of righteousness,
Illuminate my face with the radiance of your Love
And may my eyes shine to reflect your Peace and Acceptance.
