Praise the Lord from whom all blessings flows – welcome to yet another awesome day in Jesus!

Luke 20:19-20 19And the chief priests and the scribes the same hour sought to lay hands on him; and they feared the people: for they perceived that he had spoken this parable against them.20And they watched him, and sent forth spies, which should feign themselves just men, that they might take hold of his words, that so they might deliver him unto the power and authority of the governor. (Luke 20:1-20)

I read the word every single night and fight against all that my flesh says to remind myself to read at least a chapter a night along with listening to the word on my ride to work. It is not easy to do all the time but it is truly a blessing when I stick with it. I am praying that I continue to fight my flesh and do not allow myself to come from this routine.

As I have been listening to and reading the book of Luke, there is one thing that it makes clear. There are plenty of times the chief priests sought to go after Jesus but not until the appointed time were they able to rid the world of Him, or so they thought. These men did not understand the true calling of Jesus and His purpose because they were blinded by their flesh and the enemy used that in his favor. Yet, what even the enemy did not understand is that Jesus had to go through all that he did. The enemy was not very smart in that situation and to be honest when we look at our attacks from the enemy, he is still not that smart.

Why do I say this, I say this because we have the victory. What the enemy counts on is the fact that you do not know that you have the victory and that you will not act on the fact that you have the victory in Jesus. He (satan) is counting on you falling down and not wanting to get up. He is counting on when he has you up late due to a family situation that you will not finish reading your word that night which can start a daily trend of you not reading your word every day. He gets your mind to thinking, I missed Tuesday night and the world did not cave in and tonight I am so tired, I will just read double tomorrow, but then tomorrow comes and he throws something else in your path. Now the Holy Spirit will tell you that you need to read, but it is our choice on what we do. We have to fight our flesh and ignore the enemy. If you have to stomp on him, then do so, but remember to turn your mind over to Jesus.

The enemy will send people to hinder us, he will send situations to slow us down, he will send obstacles that will try to make you fall down, oh yes, temptations that really knock you back. Remember that all that the enemy means to hurt or harm you, the Lord will use to bless you. With each situation that comes and you overcome that situation, you will find that you are moving forward in Jesus and receive more in Him because of it. Sometimes it is the baby steps that matter the most. We cannot expect to RUN, when we cannot even CRAWL first! Think of the process of a child learning to walk and compare it with our walk with the Lord. There is a process in all things, Praise God for that, so as we learn to scoot closer to Him, know that eventually you will be running to Jesus and never looking back! AMEN!
