One day the widow of a member of the group of prophets came to Elisha and cried out, “My husband who served you is dead, and you know how he feared the Lord. But now a creditor has come, threatening to take my two sons as slaves.”“What can I do to help you?” Elisha asked. “Tell me, what do you have in the house?” “Nothing at all, except a flask of olive oil,” she replied. And Elisha said, “Borrow as many empty jars as you can from your friends and neighbours. Then go into your house with your sons and shut the door behind you. Pour olive oil from your flask into the jars, setting each one aside when it is filled.” So she did as she was told. Her sons kept bringing jars to her, and she filled one after another. Soon every container was full to the brim! 2kings 4:1-6. NLT

Oil usually represent anointing or the Holy Spirit. This oil in question may be your area of ability. Are you going through anything and you say I can’t help it or I can’t handle it? As that woman said I have nothing except a flask of oil. So also do you have something which you called nothing, and yet it is something, only if you implement it.

Did you know that you can make something glorious out of your nothing? That immoral woman in Mat 26 made something out of her nothing, she poured the only oil over our Lord and she became a significant person in the life of Jesus, if not for her Jesus may not have entered into his glory. What she would have said is nothing except became that which roused anger from Judas and gave him the opportunity to betray Jesus. And Jesus said I tell you the truth, wherever the Good News is preached throughout the world, this woman’s deed will be remembered and discussed.” Mat 26:13 all because of a flask of oil.
You can make impact for your life, your home, family, school, church and even community, if only you will use that which you say is nothing.

Can you sing, pray, dance, write, teach, preach, or jump? Whatever the measure of God’s deposit in you, it is not ‘except’, that may be the answer to all your cry all this while and the cry to many around you.
Are you good in art, craft or business? Invest in it and the Lord will help you to pour and fill as many jars that you have available.
You can win a soul, you can encourage, support and empower another, the seed is in you. Stop saying I have nothing anymore. You have Jesus Christ who gives everything.
