Once upon a time....

In a land not too far away....

There lived a princess named Gina.....

She lived in a tall tower, that overheated in the summer and froze in the winter...

But she didn't mind... for she had a prince....

Though her prince had come, obstacles had been planted to keep them apart.......

Every night, Princess Gina would look at the sky and wonder where he was.....
what he was thinking about....

She counted the days until she saw him once more.....

Princess Gina worked for a hard slave master....

They forgot who she was and forced her to commit difficult tasks....

But the Princess did not complain much....
she knew it was worth it.....


Far away, across the great ocean, Rico lived....

Though he was a common man with no riches, his heart, tenderness, and love for the Princess had won him a marriage......

But Rico, too, faced daily hardship.... his country had great instability....

Some days, he did not know how he would eat....
but he continued trusting the Great One who had brought Princess Gina to him....

Rico worked hard, dreaming of the future they would share together....

In his spare moments, he would ask the Great One to bless his fair maiden, and to guide him in wisdom.....

Princess Gina, too, trusted the Great One.... combined with her love for Rico, she had peace that surpassed any meaningless task she was assigned.....

Fortunately for the Princess, she had a friend in Lady Marie.... many times Princess Gina would beg Lady Marie to entertain her, to remind her why her labors were so hard....

"The Great One sees all," Lady Marie would say, "He knows your trouble and wants you to know you are simply being prepared.

"Rico has prayed for you all his life, as you have prayed for him, and the Great One wants you both to be perfect in His love.

"Princess Gina, your beauty remains, in spite of the ashes that cover your hands and face. Rico dreams of you as his very own princess.

"Never give up. Keep your thoughts to the future joy."

Princess Gina was grateful for the truth she found in her friend..... and returned to her tasks with renewed hope....

At that very moment, Rico felt a touch from the Great One.... He was filled with an intense hope and joy and gave thanks that he had such a princess to work for....

And the Great One smiled down upon all, taking pleasure in the trust of His children....

The moral of this story, dear reader, is thus:


Never give up.

Never forget what you are working for.

The Great One watches over us all.
