Healing
The four year old child
who never looked up,
and hid in the shadows,
is learning to shine
again.
Today.
Sweet Sixteen.
I thank God.
For her spirit.
For her beauty.
For her heart.
Where Love,
and Hope,
and Faith,
have been gently rekindled,
by Him.
Pizza and ice cream.
Movies with friends.
A day filled with promise,and laughter.
Her laughter,
and
my quiet tears,
of Joy.
Thank God.
(this is offered as encouragement to other young people, recovering from child abuse, and those that love them.)

Hang on to your childhood a bit longer, but look in the window of adulthood, picking out the BEST of it. You have a wonderful future ahead, and a great "MOM" to guide you...Helen
