"Now, I Can See"

Oh the love that reached down to me;
Opened these eyes, that could not see;
Touched my heart with a Father's love;
Filled my mind with heaven above.

Oh, who could resist that love, I now ask?
And yet, I did in the long years past;
I laughed at those who followed the way;
And shunned love's touch in every way.

So in my pride, yes even my fear;
I endeavoured to please the world down here;
Until I became lost in every way;
Despaired of my life, chose not to stay.

And then love argued my heavenly case;
Claimed, "She belongs to me, she will finish the
race;"
I gave her life, yes, she is mine;
She is a part of my plan, Divine.

I set out a path with fervency, no delay;
I studied the Word, I prayed every day;
My spirit had been starved, now I plainly see;
And only the Bible could truly feed me.

So I plead, you not think me a prude or a bore;
When I place the Word first in my thoughts evermore;
This new life has led my heart now to see;
I'm His child first and my Father loves me.
