"But since you rejected me when I (wisdom) called and no one gave heed when I stretched out my hand," (Proverbs 01:24)
There is a price to pay for refusing to take good advice. This verse refers to the wisdom of the LORD crying out to mankind, yet some reject it. Your parents, your spouse, or your spiritual family may offer this wisdom to you. When godly advice is given from a proper source it is given to help and protect your life. Refusing to take the advice often involves lose of some kind. Our refusal usually has to do with our pride. We think we alone know best. When we find out we were wrong it is usually too late to avoid the consequences of our choice. Be teachable; embrace the wisdom of God!
