I’VE LOOKED THROUGH EYES OF ADORATION
AND SAW A MOUNTAIN OF CONTEMPT
I’VE LISTENED WITH A SYMPATHETIC EAR
BUT ONLY HEARD WORDS OF DESCENT
I’VE SPOKE WITH KIND AND GENTLE TONGUE
WHILE WHISPERING MISLEADING LIES
BEHIND A SMILE OF ADMIRATION
WHAT A MAGNIFICENT DISGUISE
I’VE WALKED IN SHOES OF RIGHTEOUSNESS
BUT TROD A PATH OF RESENTMENT
CLOTHED IN A GARMENT OF BENEVOLENCE
BOUND BY A THREAD OF DISCONTENT
I’VE GLEANED THOUGHTS OF MEDIATION
BUT WORE A CROWN OF COMPROMISE
COMPLICIT IN CONJECTURE
WHAT A MAGNIFICENT DISGUISE
I’VE WITNESSED PERSUCUTIONS HAND
AND EVEN DEALT IT ONCE OR TWICE
ADJUDICATED JUSTICE SELFISHLY
RECOGNIZANT OF MY OWN VICE
I’VE OFFERED HOPE AND CONFIDENCE
WITH AN INTENT TO CRITICIZE
PERVASIVELY PERSUASIVE
WHAT A MAGNIFICENT DISGUISE
I’VE LOVED TO LIVE AND LIVED TO LOVE
BUT FAILED TO RECOGNIZE
THAT NO MAN CAN LIVE OR LOVE BEHIND

This is VERY powerful and well-constructed. I would suggest that you not post in all caps, however - it was a bit distracting to the eye, and is considered shouting :) Blessings to you - and keep writing!
I agree, very powerful and i am ashamed to say that i can see myself in many of the lines and yet i claim christianity, selfrighteousness, wolf in sheeps clothing and on and on. I'm sure this was supposed to make us think and touch and it did and more. Very convicting!
