That Day
That day, as He walked up Calvary’s way
He never had a thing to say,
He simply hung His head.
Like a lamb before the slaughter,
He knew that He would soon be dead.
He opened not His mouth that day
Not one complaint did He make,
For Christ knew this was just the start
Of His suffering, and His shame.
As Christ walked people spat,
People mocked, laughed and jeered.
Christ never turned to look around,
He never, not one time looked up with a scornful frown.
They laid Christ on the cross that day,
He never tried to jerk away.
He never cried, “Please no!”
Jesus knew this was the way He must go.
They drove the nails through His hands,
Oh such pain ‘I’ could not stand.
They hung my Lord on the cross that day,
And it became dark in mid day.
That was the price Christ had to pay,
That you and I could be saved.
That we could stand and worship Him,
Washed in His blood and free from sin.

Truly touching. We should all think about these things when we are persecuted and reviled for Jesus' name. We should all remember this also before we deliberately sin. He died a horrendous death for us and we should not take it lightly. Again, thank you. Anita
