On Crimson Wing


Beautiful redbird on crimson wing
Unknowing of the joy you bring
Sent to me out of indigo days
And terrifying nights
A family awakened by screams
Of a reoccurring dream
Depression thought he'd won
But satan had to run
Because Sarah's daughter
Knew the Son
I lay at His feet
I buried my face
In the hem of His garment
I grabbed His hands
He opened His arms
And i let Him hold me
O' my Saviour
My Lord, my King
Sweet Jesus, the hope you bring
You led me to a window
That long ago spring
To see a lovely color
My beautiful redbird , on crimson wing!

This poem is true, the first color I saw when God began to bring me out of my depression was the redbird and it will always be my favorite. God gets all the glory !! If anyone needs to talk, I'm here.

Absolutely beautiful! How amazingly awesome it is that we have a Father in Heaven that loves us so much that He takes the time to bring our attention to the smallest of details just as a daily reminder of who we are in Him. Be Blessed, my friend!

Wonderful writing, Judy. Sometimes God touches our hearts through nature. I'll post a story about a black sparrow the Lord sent to me many years ago.

Looked for your poetry, having appreciated your encouragement on "Feeding frenzy"; I too have known the battle with depression
and Christ's strength to come through. It is a familiar one for people like us- Poets.

Judy, good for you for offering your support for those who have gone through what you've gone through. Praise the Lord that He has sustained you "On Crimson Wing." ... Just one thing I am puzzled about. It's this short sentence:I had one to in the middle of the poem. I don't understand its meaning or the way it fits in with the rest. Could you add a note of explanation at the bottom of the poem? Otherwise, the poem was lovely...Thanks, by the way, for the cute comment on my Corky story...Helen

Hi Judy. I just read your poem and I love it. Sometimes our wings get broken but we can still fly because we belong to the one who made those wings,Amen!!! I have a lot of reading to try to get to this weekend if nothing happens. I can only read for a short time because my vision gets blurry even with my glasses. I hope you have a blessed weekend. Anita

Oh Judy. how exquisite. This is lovely, and I will never look at a redbird in quite the same light again.
As for depression, I think that it is one of Satans greatest tools!......we all go there...but our God is so much BIGGER, and He loves us so....Thank you for sharing.

Excellent, Judy. How does one express the surge of joy that comes when one looks out the window and sees that beautiful redbird. Each spring, I have a redbird and a cardinal appear in the tree in my back yard and I always watch with joy and amazement each time. There is such beauty in God's creation. GOD BLESS YOU
