I watch a monstrous jet-plane
Roaring off into the sky,
And I marvel that the brain
Invented engines that could fly.
A swift swallow flashes past,
Only inches from the ground,
Dipping, dropping, oh so fast,
Scything by without a sound.

A huge ocean-going liner
Is manoeuvered through the bays;
On the seas, nothing finer
Ever graced the ocean waves.
But enter then a dolphin,
Sleekly gliding through the blue,
Does a flip and then a spin
As it disappears from view.

Mankind must strive and strain
To overcome the sea and sky;
By the sweat of brow and brain
Makes machines that float and fly,
But the dolphin on the seas
And the swallow on the wing
Are so perfectly at ease
Doing their God-appointed thing.

The God of all creation
Can be seen in sea and sky;
Nature's a revelation
Of Almighty God on high:
Jesus, by redeeming grace
Breaks the curse of death and sin:
Find your God-appointed place
Back in fellowship with Him.
