First I am going to state this, and then I will explain it: God is not incredible.

I know, I know, you hear folks saying it all the time, and I have said it too: “God, you’re incredible!”, but, I just looked up the word (looking for synonyms) and the FIRST definition is IMPOSSIBLE OR VERY DIFFICULT TO BELIEVE. Is that what I want to be saying to Him or about Him?

Sure the other definitions go on to say things like amazing, astonishingly great, excellent…but the first explanation was the one that broke my heart.

How could I ever again declare that my Lord was not able to be believed?

I remember an old saying from childhood: say what you mean, and mean what you say.

So, to that end, I proudly proclaim: God you are totally CREDIBLE!
