JAMES 1:26
IF ANY MAN AMONG YOU SEEM TO BE RELIGIOUS, AND BRIDLED NOT HIS TONGUE, BUT DECEIVETH HIS OWN HEART, THIS MANS RELIGION IS VAIN.

Have you ever wondered why the Lord God gave us two ears but one mouth?
He could have duplicated the other features on the face and the rest of our bodies just like He did the ones that He made in twos.

The mouth is a very interesting piece of our bodies because we multitask with it often; you can talk and be engaged in a conversation whilst you eat (although this is not advisable as it is against the rules of table etiquette, quite unladylike and ungentlemanly!)

I was watching someone in action once, this person talked for hours none stop, linking one topic to another in conversation without a break and without raising a boring topic dominating the whole show, even when one person or another tried to contribute in the conversation, he hardly heard(despite the TWO EARS!), I just practically gapped in amazement and wondered how this person’s jaws did not ache and how it could only be regarded as a talent of sorts because how else could one classify such a display of unusual gift or what do I call it?
Perhaps in such a situation a second mouth might be useful as backup.

I just can not help wondering at times how these things work but I believe the Bible is forever true that the physical man can not understand the things of the spirit whenever he continues to try to map out logic and discern spiritual things in a physical manner he will always fail.

I have finally come to a conclusion about this matter because I know that the Almighty does not make mistakes and He does not do anything because He accidentally stumbled upon or just discovered it, let’s think about the whole salvation process(The fall, Thank God that redemption and salvation was all planned before sin happened), considering the fact that we have two ears (all the better to hear with?) and two eyes, I tried closing one eye and walking down the street for a little while, whilst doing this, it was not only quite uncomfortable but also tasking for me and after a while the muscles around my closed eye ached and the other was not so convenient anymore the way that it was.

Thank God for the wisdom and mercy that flows from the Heavenly Throne in excess so that we should not perish eternally

God is really awesome, He made man perfect in the beginning and he declared it.

We have been enjoined to use our various members with wisdom and God’s guidance otherwise we end up doing the wrong things with them or abusing precious vessels that we have been put in charge of which is supposed to be the Holy Spirit’s habitation

So often we say things that we ought not to say or we talk when we should just keep quiet and watch events unfold while assimilating and digesting it all, LISTENING and noting important things that we normally would have overlooked (Do you know anything about the JOHARI windows? It's useful here), while also giving the Almighty a chance to charge of the whole issue (May God help us and give us His strength and endurance at all times).

At a point in this walk we need to learn the patience and long suffering of the life of the one that chose us.
Anger is a major emotion that drives the tongue reckless, for some, it is an effort but they do manage to bridle their tongue when angry or provoked but others go to town with their choice of words, the tone of their voice and even their actions.
When these feelings of reckless abandon overwhelms you simply declare who is in charge.
I know a cute little chorus that helps me often to calm down and remain in control whenever the enemy tries to take over my weakness to use it to make me offend God.

Declare when the tongue wants to dictate to you:

YOU ARE THE PILLAR THAT HOLDS MY LIFE, YOU ARE THE PILLAR THAT HOLDS MY LIFE, MASTER JESUS YOU ARE THE PILLAR THAT HOLDS MY LIFE.

Declare that you have no power of your own and you need His strength
What more can a child ask from the one who declares over and over again that he is always there for all His own

LET EVERY MAN BE QUICK TO HEAR, SLOW TO SPEAK, AND SLOW TO ANGER---James 1:19

This, I believe sums up the whole essence of this article
