Some say “faith is a crutch”
Perhaps. ..for there it was when I didn’t have a leg to stand on!

Some say “your faith is a mind-game.”
Actually it is in my heart and my soul as well.
And, it is there if I mind and there if I don’t
It is not based on my performance or my obedience. It is not based on me at all.

Some say “religion is just rules and regulations, I want to live free.”
Hmm.
Do you work?
Are there rules of conduct where you work?
Do you have a job description, or do you show up and wing it every day and expect to stay employed?

God never meant us to wing-it through life, doing things all on our own , willy-nilly, without any guidance or direction. He knows that, if we all did things our own way, that ultimately my way would collide with your way, and so on and so forth. There must be order, lest chaos ensue.

He brings order to life of uncertainty.
He gives purpose and fulfillment when we trade in our self-centered lives for a life lived in relationship and harmony with Him.

Are there still struggles, uncertainty, confusion at times? Absolutely, but that is where the truest definition of faith resides. It is said “Faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.”

So, even in those times when life perplexes me, when answers evade me, when circumstances challenge me to the core, I have the confidence of knowing that the God of the Universe sees, understands my situation, and is actively working in my behalf.
