Nuts!

During the Battle of the Bulge in World War II as American soldiers were trying to hold back what would later prove to be the last German offensive advance, the German High Command issued a call for an immediate surrender of American forces along a line stretching from southern Belgium to north France. As Allied Forces, mainly American, began toppling along the front, officers and men began to panic. Then General Anthony McAuliffe, acting commander of the 101st Airborne Division, received the translated note to surrender immediately. He smiled then said a single word: “Nuts!” He put off sending his response until his staff told him the German commander would no longer wait for his answer and begin to attack along the Bastogne front. General McAuliffe authorized the sending of his response to the surprise of the German Commander, Heinrich Freiherr von Lüttwitz. Encouraged by his act of defiance, General McAuliffe’s subordinate commanders and other sister units told pressing enemy units “Nuts!” as well. Although the rest of General McAuliffe’s statements have been mostly lost to that one word moment in history, the General urged his commander to fight until the battle was won.

Today, Christianity and the American way of life is under attack by individuals foreign and domestic; nations and organized groups bent on demanding Christians and Americans surrender to secularism and socialism. As Christians and Americans we need to respond with “NUTS!”. We know what our adversaries will say and do—demean and demonize Christians and American values and way of life. The purpose is to obliterate Christians/Christianity and destroy and re-write American history, traditions and re-do legitimate institutions as well as remove liberties and freedoms held dear by most Americans.

Just because those who oppose everything Christian and American seem to be winning in many venues, they are not in reality. They are just more vocal and have media support and assets to hide the truth regarding the fallacy of their success. They can be defeated with action and prayer. We should back and cheer for our God and Godly leaders, but we also need to get in the fight as soldiers for Christ not just as innocent bystanders or little people (Who really do not exist. We are all capable if we determine and use our God-given talents). There are people and a nation who need us as well as our time, talent and treasure that we have in abundance. Praise God and let us help them as we say: NUTS! in a loud and unified manner to evil and evildoers!
