Sweltering heat, desert daze
Then somewhere in the distant haze
A sudden vision of water appears.
Traveling toward the oasis
I attempted to get near
Yet the only water to be found
Rolled down my cheek as a tear.
The obvious had faded away…
The sighting of a mirage
Lured me directly into
A dead-end sabotage.
Somewhere in the distant haze
I walked into a hidden maze
Where the water wasn’t real-
Illusion itself thus became
My very last meal.
Psalm 63:1
O God, thou art my God; early will I seek thee: my soul thirsteth for thee, my flesh longeth for thee in a dry and thirsty land, where no water is;

Julie, there is a gem to be found in this one. This world - Satan's domain - is relentless when it comes to beating us when we are already down giving us false hopes of refreshment at every opportunity. If we abide in Christ and have accepted His discipline throughout this life, we will find that even when tempted and possibly swayed by Satan's attempts to bring us down - even when it seems we have been abandoned by the God in Whom we trust - in reality, we have been graced by Him with rich and blessed teachings to see us through the "distant haze", past the teasing false oasis served up by Satan himself unto the other side where the sun is brightly shining and our God awaits with open Arms to receive us and hand to us a "star" for our accomplishment of a lesson well-learned. Thank you for making me dig into this one; as usual my faith has been strengthened and my hope enriched. Blessings, Love and (((HUGS)))) Jody
