Women
Have you ever met a woman who you wished you could switch lives with? You look at her life and see everything you’ve always dreamed of, and more. It’s her family, her attitude, her looks, her job, her husband or boyfriend, her faith, her clothes, her confidence… and the list goes on.
You try not to stare when she speaks or walks into a room and you often pretend you haven’t even noticed her. The worst thing is, the more you notice about her, the less you notice about yourself. It’s as though her blessings diminish your whole life. Is there something wrong with you or is she simply lucky?
Let’s define ‘lucky’. According to Wikipedia, it’s an adjective that means favoured by, or producing luck or good fortune. ‘Favoured by life’, one could say, but how can life favour anyone?
Some people say it’s destiny, which is a belief that there’s a fixed natural order for events. How can that be so—that no matter how many wrong choices you make, you’re predestined to be happy? I need more faith to believe in that than to believe in God!
The women I consider as blessed all have one thing in common and it’s definitely not luck or destiny. They’ve all made the right choices in situations where most people would simply opt for the wrong one.
Young women who saved themselves for Mr Right are today enjoying the benefits of having him in their life. Married women who decided to become women of God are today enjoying the benefit of having their husbands also turn to God. Teenagers who decided to not follow the crowd but to live for God, are today fulfilled and successful in every aspect.
Their lives today are a result of the choices they made yesterday. They chose what they wanted, even if it required a lot of sacrifice at the time. They went for it with all their heart and soul. Today these women are simply reaping what they’ve been sowing all their lives. It’s not luck—it’s just how life works.
The choices we make change everything for us, no matter when we make them. If you are a woman of God and make a wrong decision today, you’ll suffer for it tomorrow. God will not step in and fix things for you. He gives you the freedom to choose but with that freedom comes consequences.
If you want to plan out your entire life, make the right decisions today. Don’t ruin things by thinking that you can fix them later or that things will somehow fix themselves.
They won’t! If you marry the wrong man today, you’ll suffer tomorrow. It doesn’t matter how nice he is. If he’s not your Mr Right, you’ll suffer.
The main problem with some young women in the church is that they think they’re too young to commit to God. They follow the style of other young women who jump from one boyfriend to the next, sleeping around as if there is no tomorrow.
Don’t forget: life is made up of choices.
