THE LIGHT

THE DEVIL IN HELL WERE TOLD IS CHAINED
FOR THE LAST THOUSAND YEARS HE'S REMAINED
BUT I KNOW THIS CAN'T BE THE TRUTH
BECAUSE I RAN WITH HIM IN MY YOUTH

HE WAS RIGHT THERE AT MY SIDE
AS I GROW OLDER AND OLDER
BUT WHEN TROUBLE CAME HE WOULD HIDE
LEAVING ME ALONE TELLING ME TO STAND BOLDER

I TRULY THOUGHT HE WAS MY FRIEND
OUT OF THE DAY AND INTO THE NIGHT
THOUGHT THIS FRIENDSHIP WOULD NEVER END
UNTILL ONE DAY I SEEN THE LIGHT

THIS LIGHT WAS BRIGHT AS IT COULD BE
SO HOW COULD I HAVE BEEN SO BLIND
THE LORD WAS REACHING OUT TO ME
AND THE DEVIL WAS NOTHING KIND

I TOOK THE HAND OF THE LORD THAT DAY
THEN EVERYTHING SEEMED SO CLEAR
NEVER AGAIN WILL I LOOK THE OTHER WAY
NOW THAT I HOLD THE LOVE OF THE LORD SO DEAR

Michael,
You have the potential to be a GREAT writer, but you need to proofread your work, visit as many GRAMMAR online tests as you can find, and NEVER quit writing. The PASSION is there. All you need is the training.

WERE (first line) - should be we're, but you can improve on that. Never lose your passion.

Your love for God is contagious.

Study the rules, because you already have the inspiration!!!!!
