Relationship Evangelism

Throughout history relationship evangelism has proven to be the most effective. If you read the book of Acts you will find relationship evangelism as a core. People talking to their friends and relatives, then people going above the call of duty to help others.

This is a call to the Christian community to get to work, building relationships. We need to show the world that we love them and that Jesus Christ loves them. We are His hands and feet. If we do not show people the love of Christ how will they ever see it.

We spend our time watching a TV monitor and satisfying our own needs. But how much time to we spend meeting the needs of those around us. I say that our Savior wants us to go out into the community to find the lost and hurting. He wants us to give them the help they need, no strings attached. Then He will draw them to Himself.

In the "great commission" Jesus gave us a mission. We are to be His feet. We are to go out into the world. Once we find them we are to be His hands to meet the needs. We are to be His mouth to lift us praise to Him when asked why we are doing what we do.

In stead we are too busy with doing our own thing to be bothered with those around us who need Christ and His love.

Thanks for reminding us that we were are 'His hands and feet' here on earth. He does need us to go out and share with others the good news. You've done well in reminding us all of the commission. God bless you and keep serving.

Charles, you've written on what is the "in-thing" in churches today. It has its place, but Jesus said preach the gospel to every creature, He doesn't mention friendship.
You quote Acts as a basis for your view, but let's not forget we read there in ch 7 how Stephen gave a message that told the truth and "cut them to the quick" - and they stoned him to death.
We must tell the whole truth, hell and all, no matter what the reaction. Also, while we're "making friends" forming a "relationship" the person can be hit by a truck.

The opinions expressed by authors do not necessarily reflect the opinion of FaithWriters.com. This is especially true with articles that deal with personal healthcare and prophecy. We encourage the reader to make their own decision in consultation with God, His Word, and others as needed.
